My son's friend thought Kaiti Hill (Maunga Titirangi) is named that because it is where you go to fly kites (he is 7) - and I loved this idea so much I had to paint it! So there are lovely pale yellow kites etched into the sky flying over the maunga.
The other idea from that discussion was that 'Kaiti' is short for 'Kaitiaki' ('guardian'), another beautiful idea which I have painted also.
Please note these canvases are not perfect rectangles.
